As you may have noticed, my posts have been lacking as of late. I haven't written or released a new post in some time. Some of this is due to the fact that my wife and I were expecting a baby and were having some pregnancy complications in late term. Well, some of those issues are done now. We have a brand new baby girl, Ahliana Monroe Donley, as of 9/9/13. I'm going to be doing my best to do some more writing and releasing some posts, but I will more than likely be cutting down to one post a week on the blog here.

As far as my writing goes, I still don't have the next short story in The Colliding Empires series done, and I may be putting it on hiatus while I contemplate officially starting work on my next novel. So, until I post again, have a great week and keep writing and/or reading 'til your heart's content!

Book Review | Into the Black: Odyssey One

INTO THE BLACK: ODYSSEY ONE by Evan C. Currie is a wonderful mix of hard sci-fi and storytelling. Not once in listening to the audible story did I find the technical details, often associated with hard sci-fi, cluttering the novel progression unnecessarily. I easily found myself caught up in the story wondering what was going to happen next. I, also, found myself moved by the characters in a way that only comes from masterful writing. This is a science fiction story that I would heartily recommend to anyone that reads the genre.
