FICTION FEATURES MONTHLY

Every month Fiction Features Monthly will have book reviews. Until we have more guest writers for the magazine, we'll be doing around 4 books reviews. It takes time to read books and write clear and concise reviews. FFM will debut its first issue on December 3rd at 8:00 AM CST. The issue can be accessed HERE after you have installed Google Currents on your select devices.

The magazine is free, as is Google Currents. We want to make the magazine a way for readers to find new authors to support. By doing this, we hope to give the authors access to a larger audience. Many authors have to do their own marketing, even if they are with large publishers. We hope that the magazine will provide a service to both readers and authors alike.

Indie authors have to work even harder than those with traditional publishers. They have to pay for their own editors and cover artists on top of doing their own marketing with little to no contacts, especially if they are just starting out. Support your authors by rating and reviewing their works wherever they are sold. Hopefully you'll discover some of those authors through our publication.

Gathering Steam

Hello everyone! Not much of an update today. I've gotten a few hundred words written, probably about a hundred or a little less in the Colliding Empires. I've gotten a few paragraphs written on a possible scifi novel and a novella that I had been working on.

I've been listening to Nathan Lowell's TRADER TALES. I always come back to this series. I love Ishmael's voice in that series, and I'm really looking forward to the next installment SEEKERS and another branch in that universe SMUGGLERS. I've taken a break to listening to Steven Erikson's Malazan books and have gone back to some podcasts:  The Dead Robots' Society, StarTalk Radio, Android Central, and Magic the Amateuring.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and ...

Until the morrow and may your journey be meaningful!

The Call of Fate now Available for PreOrder

My new short story The Call of Fate is available for preorder.  Here is a short excerpt:

Wogan Nance, more commonly referred to as Boot Chuck by his squad, looked out over the sprawling camp of the army. Tents were lined up orderly in rows for as far as the eye could see. Soldiers milled around cook fires, sharpened swords, and fletched arrows, mostly staying close to their own squad's compound of tents and supplies. He wondered how many soldiers were like himself, hiding their true nature to keep from being used up in short order. He wondered how many secret mages, or at least those with the ability to become mages lurked in midst of the throng of these men and women.

Mages were a hot commodity in the Imperial Army as it swept across the continent claiming new lands for its own. Magic turned the tide in battle for whichever side had the most numerous mages. While ability helped greatly, a large number of fledgling mages could overcome a seasoned magical user in due time, at the cos…
