Shindarin Rising: The Editing Process Continues

I just got back the advice and critique on my draft. So...the editing process will continue as I take the advice to heart and begin to focus all the time I can spare into making the book longer, trying to connect a few dots that weren't clear or realistic, and try to bring the story and setting to the forefront. This would not seem nearly as hard to do if I could devote more of my day to these tasks. It is one of those moments when a fledgling writer, trying to get into the game, wishes that they were already writing for a living. Then, balancing time between a day job and writing would be a moot point since writing would be the day job. Alas, I am not making my living off of my writing as of yet. I have to share my day with the day job, school, the ins and outs of life, and my writing. However, there seems to be a bit more direction in the editing phase, so the process moves forward and the balancing act will continue. Thanks for reading!

I wanted to show these to anyone who hasn't seen them yet. This is a great video series with some awesome information for writers. And, of course, it features Patrick Rothfuss, one of my all-time favorite authors (and of course his epic beard). I bow down to the bearded one. . .all right. Let's get this show on the road -- onward, to glory!!!

A Chosen Path in the Editing Stage

A CHOSEN PATH, the second installment of the Colliding Empires Short Story Series, is now officially in the editing phase. I hope to get some feedback from my writing group in the next couple of weeks, and I have been sifting through it on my own to find those nasty little grammatical errors that crop up when the first draft is done. I hope to have it published on Amazon in 2 to 3 weeks. I would like to thank Jeffrey Kosh for his covers. He will be providing me with the covers for all ten of the short stories that I plan to publish for this series. If you are an author and are looking for covers that easily fit into your budget, I would suggest giving his web page a quick look. Thanks everyone!

A Bit of Reevaluation

I know it's been a while since my last post, but I figured I might as well throw out some updates. Anyone who has been following along should probably want to know that the first five short stories of the Colliding Empires have been released into a single file called "Volume 1."

Another thing that is probably the most notable is the fact that I haven't written a post since back in December. I've quite noticeably been derailed in both my blogging and my writing. I haven't done much writing at all. I apologize for that, but it is also one of my cycles that I definitely need to change.

The second, and most recent development, is that I've decided to remove myself from Twitter and delete my Facebook page. I felt that most of what was being put out to the internet on those media channels were shameless self-promotion. That isn't really what I wanted those to become. I don't like the idea of hitting people over the head with that message. And, to be qui…
